Online in Alberta
Online casino play from Alberta
Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino is a land-based resort, and none of its own pages names an online casino. Online play in Alberta runs under its own rules, and this page sets them out for guests planning a weekend at the resort.

How Alberta runs online gaming
In Alberta, online gaming operates within a regulated market. The Alberta iGaming Corporation, or AiGC, manages it, and AGLC regulates it. To operate legally, an online operator has two steps: it registers with AGLC and signs an operating agreement with AiGC. Registered operators must make sure that only players who are physically located in Alberta can play.
The province runs its own online gaming site, Play Alberta, which you will find at PlayAlberta.ca. AGLC runs it, and its revenue goes to the Government of Alberta. The legal gambling age in Alberta is 18. On a casino floor, staff must check valid government-issued photo ID for anyone who appears to be under 25.
A habit before any site
Before using any online casino site, a short check is a good habit. AiGC keeps a directory of registered iGaming sites at abigaming.ca/players/registered-igaming-sites, and anyone can use it to check whether an operator is authorised. If an operator is not in that directory, it is not regulated. Approved operators also display the AiGC logo. The same check works for every site, including the one this guide's home page links to.
Where this guide's money comes from
The Kananaskis Weekender carries paid links on its home page only, each marked Ad. There are three: one button in the menu, one block just below the first screen and one block near the end of the page. All three lead to the same online casino partner, and the guide earns a commission. The partner can change. Inner pages carry no paid links.
That partner is not the resort and not Play Alberta. It has no connection with Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino or the Stoney Nakoda Nation. The guide itself takes no bets and has no accounts or cashier. Any site, the partner included, can be checked in the AiGC directory.
